Family Favorite Foto Friday!

Those were the days!

Somewhere in Texas...sometime in the 50's...must have been summertime because we were bare foot. This is a photo of myself and my cousin Ty. Our mothers were sisters and looked very much alike. Probably explains why we look so much alike here. Ty and his little brother...Yogi...yes, I know...I guess my aunt and uncle were baseball fans...lived only thirty minutes away so they were more like brothers to me. Ty and I grew up to be great friends. We went to college together...we both inherited a wicked sense of humor...and we both share many memories. Ty grew up to be a physician and I grew up to be an educator. Although we both remain in Texas, we live many miles apart now...and I truly miss him.

There was something so simple and yet so poignant about those days. The uncomplicated photos seem to underline that those days were rich, indeed.

It could have been spring or fall too. You know we only wear shoes in the winter and that's just to go outside. Y'all were really cute. Don't you wish we could still get away with wearing our dresses that short? Debbie

Nowadays you'd be in expensive jeans with a logo on your little baby butt!

Ok so you HAVE to take the drive and go and see your dear cousin.
I posted about cousins on my last photo Friday and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
Do it

I'm so glad that God gave us cousins! My cousins are more like brothers and sisters...all in our family feel that way.

You are both so cute I know Texas is a big state, but don't wait too long to see your cousin - go see him!

Y'all were beautiful children! My favorite part of this picture is the barefeet. I try not to wear shoes too much, even in winter.

Hi Malisa, I love the photo of you and Ty. You do look very much alike. We had lots of cousins and we all loved each other very much. My grands are very good friends and get along so well. It is wonderful that you had each other and were such good friends. That is the way family should be.

Thank you for your sweet comment about my grands. Yes I have many grandchildren but my mother had 20. Now that is alot of grands. Smile. I am one of six children. Five girls and one boy. Thus, the huge family. We are very close even though we live all over the place.

Hugs...Jeanne

Well......I always say you can pick your friends, and you are stuck with your relatives.......but that is not always the case.....as you have proven. Cute picture of you two. Good blackmail picture with a caption to post in his office to test that wicked sense of humor. I had a great time with my cousins too.....although, they still think I am a witch...being older.....I used to put spells on them Boo-shah-lad-Da! Hey.....I went to college in Texas......for only one year, I just couldn't quite get in the saddle of things. I visited many places, though,..it's a great state! Once a Texan always a Texan. My grandmother used to fly the Texas State flag along with the American Flag on every holiday........and I am proud to say I know all the words to The Yellow Rose of Texas. More info probably than you wanted to know.

That was fantastic! I have many cousins, but one in particular was a good friend of mine. She lived on a farm, and I LOVED staying with her in the summers. She married a pilot and lived near Key West, Fla. Bitch.
