Wanted: Inspiration!

I need some inspiration right now!
I need for my creative juices to be flowing!
My days are pretty busy
and my mind is blocked with
too much stuff!

I need to take a trip to one of the three
places that inspire me to create.
I love the sights, the smells and
the feel of these three places.
These places awaken the artist in me!

Telluride, Colorado

Taos, New Mexico

New Orleans

But NO!
I am stuck here trying to finish up
too many projects!

I am in a writing frenzy!
That's good, right?
Yes, two people have contacted me
to write sketches for them.
Why am I not more excited?
I don't get paid for a year...
if ever.

But I have to get back to work
and make money,
so I thought about opening
one of these...

there are a lot of vacant shops these days!
So I decided what kind of shop to open...
only to find out that...

there is already a pork store!

So I thought some more and created
a business plan for this store...
only to discover that Charles Lee
beat me to the punch!
I fear that most Texas towns
don't need two oyster stores!

In desperation, I settled on opening
a liquor store.
But who can compete with this guy?

So, I gave up.
I decided to just open an Etsy shop!
Besides, the work hours are much better
and I can work in my sweats!
Etsy shop premiere coming very soon!

And I am doing something else I didn't think
I would have to do...
polishing up the resume.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I know, I know, I hate it too!
I gave 30 years to education...
don't I deserve to retire?

Evidently not.

In the meantime, I am still trying
to catch up at home.
I am still clearing out the overgrown lawn.
Lurch is still supervising.

I'm tending to the plants and landscaping...

cleaning up this nasty house...

making a few home repairs.

Oh, and I am reminded of this daily...
So any words of inspiration, my friends?

Oh dear, sad all those shops are already open...LOL...I enjoyed your post, but I too believe you should be able to retire after giving all those years to education. BLAH!!! It is a crazy world we live in. I can hardly wait to see what you have in your Etsy shop.

The good news is...you are doing things you love doing. Gardening. Writing. Selling good stuff. Hanging with Lurch. You don't need inspiration. You just need to hear the music and enjoy the dance, my friend. ~Mindy

Oh, honey......we feel your pain..we are there with you. YOU are good.....but lets forget about the store. I have been there for 30 years...in Texas...and counting and no money there. Creativity, yes....but....there are NEEDS. Love to check on you and I don't even know you. So what does that say? Venita

Love the pix of you and Lurch, damn yard work is a bitch! You forgot your perfect place to travel, to visit to get inspired! It's upcountry in Maui. Warm tropical breezes, art galleries, and beautiful tan bodies of all the beautifully "built" surfers! Very artistic looking! Ready to book a flight with me?
Take care, Sue

Hi Malisa!

If you ever do open a pork store, I'll be first in line. I loves me some bacon.

I wanted to thank for the wonderfully thoughtful comments you left on my last post, they really did mean so much to me.

All the best,
Anne

I've visited two out of these three special places many times regularly and never been once to the other one. Can you guess which is which?

I love the postcard at the end about dreams and hopes. Sometimes I feel that way about life....
