Day 31...Kicking Back And Catching Up!

Ah, yes...
Sunday...
a day to kick back and catch up!

Since I have been Lurch's tour guide
for this last week,
I am SO BEHIND in my blogging!
So I am going to spend the next two days
with my rear in this recliner...
reading all the blogs of my old blogging buddies...
and getting acquainted with my new blogging buddies!

I can't wait to read about all of your...
wonderful junking finds...
gorgeous artistic creations...
new babies and grandbabies...
delicious recipes...
design challenges...
and humorous stories!

Can you say "Vegetate"?
That will be me!
Can't wait to catch up with you all!

Don't forget that
POP TEST
starts back up first thing
in the morning!

Day 30...The Gang Is All Here!

I love the women in this photo!
I can't decide if this photo represents...

or
2.) The Pickled Hens of Ponte Vedra

Day 29...Leading The Parade!

I'm leading the parade!
What parade?
The parade to celebrate
Lurch's Road to Recovery!

Well, actually, I would
be out front twirling...
yes, I was a twirler way back when...
yes, I was skinnier then...
but use your imagination!
We have good news...
we found TWO GREAT doctors!
They were both fabulously wonderful...
the best of the best...
now we just have to make a decision
about which one we want to do the surgery!
Hooray!

PLUS...
both doctors agreed to do Lurch's surgery
in the next two weeks!
No more waiting lists!
Double Hooray!

PLUS...
both doctors agreed that Lurch doesn't
have to have a bone fusion
which was a heavy duty procedure!
Hip Hip Hooray!

So...
maybe...
just maybe...
Lurch will be on the
road to recovery
in a few weeks!

With your prayers...
and a good doctor...
and a little surgery...
I might have my man back!
In fact,
he might be leading the parade
and twirling!
Yeah, I doubt it, too!

Thanks to all of you
wonderful friends
for your thoughts and prayers!
We will all celebrate together soon...
maybe you can all be in the parade!

Day 28...Texas Medical Center

Thought I would show you
where I am today.
I am Lurch's tour guide
at the Texas Medical Center
in downtown Houston.
Okay...
maybe the Texas Medical Center
doesn't have pigeons...
but here is what they do have...

"The Texas Medical Center started with a dream to create a medical center, where people from all walks of life could have access to the best health care anywhere - whether they were rich, poor, famous, alone, young, or old.

Sixty years since that dream originated, it has been realized many times over. The 47 institutions of the Texas Medical Center each exist to serve all of mankind. On any given day, one can find people from every social circumstance and many of the world's nations seeking treatment at the center's renowned institutions.

Many TMC institutions are working to make the Texas Medical Center quality of care convenient to even more people by placing clinics, offices, and other facilities in neighborhoods throughout Houston and the surrounding communities, and even in other parts of Texas and the world.

In the Texas Medical Center, there is something to meet everybody's needs. Two trauma facilities are located in the center, as are institutions specializing in every imaginable aspect of health care, including care for children, cancer patients, heart care, organ transplantation, terminal illness, mental health, and wellness and prevention.

All 47 of institutions of the Texas Medical Center are not-for-profit, and are dedicated to the highest standards of patient care, research, and education. These institutions include 13 renowned hospitals and two specialty institutions, two medical schools, four nursing schools, and schools of dentistry, public health, pharmacy, and virtually all health-related careers. It is where one of the first, and still the largest, air ambulance service was created; a very successful inter-institutional transplant program was developed; and more heart surgeries are performed than anywhere else in the world.

It's all here, in the Texas Medical Center -- and it's here for everyone." (from Texas Medical Center website)

Yep...

everything is bigger in Texas!

Day 22...Come On In, The Water Is Fine!

Plain Old Weird

That is my favorite category
in my vintage photo collection!

When I started collecting vintage photos,
I found that I had an eye for the
strange, out of the ordinary shot.

I love photos which scream for
a caption to be added!
For example...

When I first spotted this photo,
the first caption that came to mind was

"WHO PEED IN THE WATER?"

I love plain old weird vintage photos!

This photo and caption is available
on Moonlight Hollow Cards...
coming soon to a blog near you!

Day 21...I'll Show You Mine, If You Show Me Yours!

I love this little sassy miss!
I love that look on her face...
that wild hair...
that hand on her hip...
that attitude!

I think she is saying...
"I dare you"...
"Want to make something of it?"...
"Let me show you who is boss!"...
"I'll show you mine...
if you show my yours!"
Which brings me to ask you this:
You want to see a sneak preview
of what I've been working on?

My studio...
my work space...
my creative area...
my big messy room!

I'll post more photos
when the project is complete...
along with some history of the
items I have used in this area.

Want to see what is in the bird cage?
Head over to my other blog,

Never-Ending Story!

Directions/Instructions/How-To:

1. I will post a picture and then begin a story
with 3 to 6 sentences...

2. Then I will stop in MID-SENTENCE...

3. The next person picks up (in MID-SENTENCE)
where the last comment left off and will then
add 3 to 6 sentences to continue the story...

4. And then she/he/it will stop in MID-SENTENCE

5. Don't end the story...
it is a never-ending story!

6. You may post as many comments as you want
to continue the story!

Let's Write!

They were a match made in heaven. They were the perfect couple. They shared the same interests and had the same hobbies. They did everything together. Some people called them Heckle and Jeckle, some people called them The Bobsey Twins and some people called them...

Day 19...Dog Tired!

I am dog tired!
Know what I mean?

I have been working
on creating my studio.
I needed an area that was just mine...
okay, okay, Lurch can use it too.

I was tired of my artistic projects
messing up the dining room...
which in turn messed up the family room...
and the foyer...
well, you get the idea!

I am almost finished!
I am going to share photos with you
later in the week!

In the meantime,
this is what I look like...
dog tired!

Yep, you can tell this beautiful
pooch had a dog's life...
eating, playing, pooping, napping!
It can wear a fellow out!

To all of you bloggers
who faithfully post
every day of the year...
I SALUTE YOU!

Let's just say that I
haven't found my stride yet.
Some days I post at 6 am...
other days at 6 pm.

missed a day yet...
and it's only Day 16!

So I salute you!
Now get a
stiff upper chin...
and hang in there with me...

PLEASE!

What Day Is This? Oh! Day 15!

You all know I am blonde...
and ditzy...
and forgetful!
How did I get confused
on the day count?
I thought...
that explains it...
I thought!

That won't happen again!

The girl in this vintage photo
is obviously not blonde...

There is so much to look at
in this photo...
the hand tinting...
the umbrella...
the dog...
the fence...
the gate...
the wooden house...
the mimosa tree...
the stockings wrinkled at the knees!

My stockings are not wrinkled at the knees...
because I don't wear stockings.
However, my mind may be wrinkled
in a place or two!

For those of you keeping up with
our journey,
Lurch and I are meeting with
his spine surgeon today.
We will let a smile be our umbrella!
