Guess Who Is Coming To My House?

Guess who's coming to
Grammy and Grande's house!

Yep!
My girl, Madisyn, and...

my boy, Tango, and...

my baby boy, Cash!

Yep, the whole gang will be here!

I am one happy woman!

Thanks to all of you who prayed for my daughter-in-law, Elena.
She is recovering nicely from her surgery.

Happy Trails To You...

This is for those of you
who are hitting the road
for the Thanksgiving holiday!

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy trails to you, 'til we meet again.

Some trails are happy ones,
Others are blue.
It's the way you ride the trail that counts,
Here's a happy one for you.

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.

Happy trails to you, 'til we meet again.

What Life Is All About...

They keep me going.

When things are tough,
I think about them.

They are the lights
of my life.

Aren't they the cutest?
I so enjoyed loving on
Tango, Madisyn and Cash
last week!

Do you know the worst part
of seeing the grandkids?
After being with them,
I miss them that much more!

Dove Hunting in Texas

I know that some of you may be shocked
that this post is about hunting.

Do I agree with the sport of hunting?
No.

However, being raised in Texas makes
many members of my family hunters.

Here are some photos of the grandkids
on a dove hunt with their Daddy last weekend.

Tango is making sure that the
dove is dead...
really, really dead.
Nice looking double barrel shotgun, Tango!

Madisyn carried her "pretty little bird"
around for hours.
She even tried putting a
band-aid on its wing.
That is so sweet...
and so, so sad.

Cash was just working on trying
to stand up...
so he could get in on the action!

Most of my readers from Texas
will totally understand these photos.

If you are opposed to hunting, like I am,
just look at my cute babies!

Gotta Catch My Breath!

I hear the patter of little feet...

and see busy little hands!
This weekend, Lurch and I
were lucky enough to be
with all three of the grandkids!

Cash kept us entertained
most of the time!

Then Madi came home with us!

The Lubbock girl was fascinated
by Smokey the Bear!

Yes, we live by a national forest.

This morning was make-up time...
something she only gets to do
at Grammy's house!

We made peace sign
shirts and visors.

Madi's favorite thing at our house
is driving the golf cart.
Like her chauffeur's hat?

I have to admit that the first photo is
the only photo I got of Tango...

He is one busy little fellow!

Now, I've got to get my sleep...
we have a busy day
planned tomorrow!

Why didn't I have grandkids first?

The Hat Says It All!

Do you wear a hat...
or does the hat wear you?

Madisyn's hat says
"I'm a Texas girl"...

Tango's hat just emphasizes
his body language,
"I'm cool! Don't mess with me"...

Cash's hat is saying
"Look how grown up I am!
No, those aren't baby cheeks,
I'm just retaining milk!"

I think I get to see this stylish crew
in the month of June!
It has been seven months
and Grammy needs to kiss
those milk retaining cheeks...
and high five Tango and tell him
that he is indeed cool...
and hug my Texas mini-me!

"Our grandchildren accept us for ourselves,
without rebuke or effort to change us,
as no one in our entire lives has ever done,
not our parents, siblings, spouses, friends-
and hardly ever our own grown children."

If This Doesn't Make You Smile, Go Back To Bed!

Yep, if these photos don't make you smile,
you have a problem...
with me!
Unfortunately,Spring is the only time of year
that Texas is a blue state...
when the bluebonnets are in bloom.

The grandkids are treated to a yearly trip
to bluebonnet country.
I am lucky to share in the trip through
my daughter-in-law's wonderful photos!

This is baby Cash's first time
to experience the Texas state flower!

Madisyn and Tango inspect a lady bug!

Can you tell that Madisyn
is a good big sister?

I love this photo of Tango
walking the wall in front of a church
blanketed with bluebonnets!

One of the neat things about Madisyn
and Tango is how much they love each other!

Madisyn takes a break from the boys!

Are you curious why the kids are so willing
to pose for bluebonnet pictures?

They are bribed with...
Cooper's World Famous Barbeque!
Who wouldn't pose for a rib?

Speaking of ribs...
I would like to take this opportunity to
say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to
the man who sticks by my side
and follows my dreams.
I LOVE YOU, LURCH!

What was that?
Did I hear you ask why our anniversary
would fall on income tax day?
Well, we thought it was the perfect day...
after all, it is the day that the entire
country gets screwed...
might as well join in!
