Friday's Favorite Family Fotos!

Why can't we have the energy of our grandkids?
Here is my granddaughter, Madisyn, last Saturday.
Just a normal day for her!
Madisyn begins her Saturday with a soccer game!

Besides being so darn cute, she is
a very good soccer player!

She scored three goals and
made numerous steals.

Madisyn is saying...
"I did good! We won!"

And what did little brother, Tango,
do during the soccer game?
Tango rearranged the soccer field, of course!

What would you do after playing a soccer game?
I think a nap would be in order.
But Madisyn said...
"Oh, no, Grammy! I'm gonna go mutton bustin'!"
Are you familiar with mutton bustin'?
It is an event held for kids at rodeos...

The idea is to ride a sheep bareback
for a designated period of time...

But here is what usually happens...

Or this!

So Madisyn goes home
and puts on her cowgirl outfit...

She puts her scary looking headgear on...

and her official number vest!

Doesn't she look tiny in the rodeo arena
with the rodeo clowns and cowboys?
Earlier in the week, Madisyn had tried out with
150 other kids to compete in the contest.
She made the final cut and got to
compete in the Mutton Bustin' Finals!
However, the sheep didn't cooperate in the final round,
so she is getting a hug from Daddy!
And what did little brother, Tango,
do during the rodeo?
Tango rode Daddy bareback, of course!

Hope you enjoyed my grandkids'
typical, busy, hectic, normal Saturday!

Mutton Bustin is the best! Love your photo - one looks like 'the agony of defeat!' It seems that your and my blog pages are on a separate page from the first 3 that Mr. Linky placed on Deborah's blog - don't know what happened there. Do you think it will straighten out later on??

Malisa, your post is adorable. What a girl. You have grandma's bragging rights hands down. I love the photos and the wonderful spirit your granddaughter has. She is so pretty. The baby is doing what babies do. Look adorable and get into things.

Hugs...Jeanne

Well the ONLY reason I know about Mutton Busten is because we lived in Wyoming for a year, and the kids did get to experience it once. Man oh man I couldn't believe my eyes, let alone watch the bull riding...and what's this about being afraid of Butterflies MIss Renaissance Girl??? I look at your blog like a butterfly immersing from it's cocoon.
Happy FF Melisa and Happy Easter.
Love Claudie and oh yes that's my hubby. You can come and get him if you want....LOL just kidding. He's a keeper and 6 years younger than me...I scored.

Muttin' Bustin' is my most favorite part of the rodeo! I was doing Spin Class this morning and thinking, "Gosh, I remember when I used to ride my bike all day long and had all that energy!"
