YaYa Chique...Au Revoir!

Good-bye, dear friend!
Happy Trails to you!

Lurch and I were honored to spend
Saturday with two friends,
YaYa, Debi and Texas Hubby, Greg.

We were there to say good-bye to
one of our favorite places,
YaYa Chique!

Debi and Greg
took their final bow...
in their old location!

We have had some good times
at YaYa Chique
and Saturday was no exception!
What could be better than good company
and great bargains?

You think I left without buying
a few wonderful goodies?

You honestly think this was all I bought?
Lurch had already made two trips to the car!

Sorry you missed it?

Well, you SHOULD have been there!

But don't cry!
Nobody likes a cry baby!

And after all, you can always
catch Debi...

Who knows what Debi has in store?

But I can guarantee you one thing...

Whatever she does...
and wherever she does it...
it will be fun!

One Houston reporter said that Debi's style
was a combination of...
Mae West
and...

Stevie Nicks!

How could that not be fun?

All I know is that I appreciate Debi's
friendship and support!

I am so glad I could be a part of the
last day at the old YaYa Chique!

And I am so excited to be there
for Debi's next new adventure!

Note To Self

I was so sorry to miss
my writing assignment
last week!
I am glad to be back
to participate in Jenny Matlock's

It is a themed writing meme.
Each Saturday, Ms. Matlock will give
a writing prompt.
Your assignment...
if you choose to accept it...
is to write a 100 word story.
Yes, 100 words or less...
not including the "prompt words".
Oh, and the prompt words can
be used anywhere in your story!

Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
The writing prompt is good for the entire week,
so you can join in at any time!

THIS WEEK'S PROMPT:

"Did you notice Elizabeth in class this morning
and how forlorn she seemed?" Perhaps I will
write her a comforting note, I thought.

So here is my contribution

_________________________________________________________

"Did you notice Elizabeth in class this morning and how forlorn she seemed?" Perhaps I will write her a comforting note, I thought.

"Did you see Julio's eyes? I don't think he has slept in days." Remember not to say anything if he rests his head on his desk.

"Lauren has worn the same long sleeve shirt three days in a row. I wonder what is going on at home?" Note to self...check her arms for bruises.

It was never discussed in pedagogy. I was never warned about caring. There were no courses on how to heal young, damaged souls.

"Welcome back from lunch, class. Back to work! Give me a word to describe Eudora Welty's short story."

"Don't look at Julio right now!"

Happy Birthday, Lurch!

Happy Birthday to You...
Happy Birthday to You...
Happy Birthday, Mister Lurch...
Happy Birthday to You!
Here is what you always
like for your birthday! :)
Thanks, Marilyn!

I fell in love with you long ago
for all the BIG reasons...

but I've ended up loving you more
for all the LITTLE reasons!

My love...
it has been a tough few years
with you being under the weather.
But you are back!
I feel so lucky to be able to celebrate
another birthday with you!

Happy Birthday, Lurch!

Disclaimer: Yes, there are more photos with
Grande and Madisyn than with Grande and the boys.
However, Grande has been sick during the boys lives.
Watch out, boys! Grande is back!!!

Let's Hit The Road!

Dear Older Son:

My grandsons need this bed.
Please get busy.

Love,
Mom

Have you ever slept in a truck bed?

Just wondering.

How about a box car?
Have you ever taken a ride in
a box car?

Looks like fun!

Want to get a leg up on traffic?

Here you go!

Remember...
don't text and drive...

keep your eye on the road!

If you are careful,
you won't need this...

a toe truck...
er, a tow truck!

Thought I would share a photo
of my latest art project.
poetry in motion,
isn't it?

Gotta hit the road now!
