Get In Line!

Today is Day Twenty-Nine of
Thirty Days of Photography II.

Did you hear me?
Day Twenty-Nine!
Woo Hoo!

Today's photo topic: LINES

If you know anything about me, you probably know my total devotion to my alma mater,  Texas Tech University.  This statue is one of the most revered pieces of art which graces the sprawling campus. The statue is titled "Into the Sunset" and depicts Will Rogers and his horse, Soapsuds.  It was commissioned by Amon G. Carter shortly after Rogers died in a plane crash in 1935.

According to legend, Will Rogers will fall off of his horse as the first virgin graduate of Texas Tech  walks by the statue. Each year, LINES of graduating seniors parade by the statue on the way to  graduation ceremonies and photo opportunities.

Will Rogers still sits proud in the saddle of old Soapsuds.
