Malisa's Looking Glass

Today is Day Seven of
Thirty Days of Photography II.

Today's photo topic: MIRROR

This is the mirror in my bathroom.

No, I don't need to iron the walls. I added an overlay of tissue paper to darken the photo.

Why? I love the glow of low lighting.

It also helps cover the toothpaste splatter on my mirror.

That's not true. I cleaned the mirror.

Right before I took the photo.

Lurch is requesting to include the photo topic, kitchen, so that I will clean the kitchen too.

Fat chance.

I'm hiding out in the dark, but well-lighted bathroom.

Want a peek into the other participants' mirror?
Check them out here.

A chandelier in your bathroom? Oooh la la. :) But really, very nicely done.

OMG, how gorgeous is that?!

Tell Lurch if he wants a clean kitchen, he should get to cleanin' it 'cause you got pictures to take! :-)

I have chandeliers in almost every room in my house. Not because I am oooh la la though. Remember that I am a junker? I buy old chandeliers and restore them. I could easily be a chandelier horder! Just ask Lurch.

Very cool effect with the tissue. The whole of the shot looks very Baroque and romantic at the same time :-)

Wow! Looks like your bathroom would be a place to stop and sit a spell (ha!). Love the picture and your use of tissue paper!

Unbelievable photo. How you constructed, thought of and captured this is beyond me. I'm not familiar with the tissue idea but my word, what a magnificent photo.

Being more of an outdoorsy photographer, I may never have to clean again (at least not for this challenge).

You have a lovely, if wrinkled, bathroom. I'm guessing your kitchen is just as purty.

Oh my, I have the strangest urge to come live in your bathroom now. Fantastic.

That's a really great photo. The lighting makes it so spooky. Cool.

I've said this before in different ways, but you do everything you do with style. This is a beautiful, ornate photo and I love how you captured the chandelier in the mirror to give us a peek into the overall look of your bathroom. Thank you, by the way, for not showing us the toilet. I don't like toilets, except in a practical sense.

On a related note, I'm also a freak for low lighting. I drive my wife crazy because I'm drawn to low, dramatic glows wherever we go, and will stand or sit staring at how the light plays itself out on whatever surfaces it hits. I've long wanted to install some fiber optic pinpoint lighting in my living room ceiling to replicate the look of the stars, but I can't convince Kerry to let me spend $5,000 to do it. Or even $15 to put up glow-in-the dark stars. Apparently, the radiation they emit is deadly.....

Malisa, that is one stylin' bathroom. I want to sink in a tub in there and contemplate life! Gorgeous photo of a beautiful place!

Oooh, can't you just imagine a claw-foot tub in there! :-)
