Round and Round

Today is Day Eleven of
Thirty Days of Photography II.

Today's photo topic: WHEELS

The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round...

Rule #1:  Never ever believe your husband if he implores you to move to a new town with him with the promise that you can stay home and work on your book.

That is the only rule you need. Don't believe him.

Pretty soon, he will be asking you to substitute teach at a highly touted high school for students with behavior problems who have been court ordered to attend.

When you mention working on the book, he reminds you that your children need food .

Bastard.

It sounds perfect in concept. A high school built in the desert mountains surrounded by hundreds of miles of dangerous terrain and no human beings. No fence is required. There is no place to escape to.

Did I mention that they take away the students' shoes and provide them with only one pair of flip-flops?

It works. Incredibly well.

The school has a high-falutin' name. I called it Psycho High.

It didn't take me long to decide that Psycho High was not my calling.

Desert mountains cannot hold me.

I'm a country girl with tough feet and I can climb rocks in flip-flops like a son of a bitch.

Chapter One.

I just knew there'd be one "Wheels on the Bus" one and I was right! :)

I love the bus photo in all of its psychedelic glory. The description you give sounds like the background to one of the horrible horror movies that my son likes to watch. When I was a kid my mother taught in a school like that in the city. It was an interesting place.

Holy crap! How did you find my old school bus. Ah, the memories!

If I'd get to ride that bus, I would totally attend Psycho High.

I'm reluctant to even think of mentioning the book, the children or the move...but the bus, the bus is psychedelic and that is all that matters.

That pic is reminiscent of the Merry Pranksters. I love it. And look at it this way. At least it's not the short yellow bus.

What's Rule No. 2 and what's Chapter Two? :)

Great photo! I'm glad you aren't at Psycho High. That scares me. Rule No. 2: Don't believe your husband when he says he'll clean the kitty litter box. He wont'.

By mountains, you meant Montreal, right? Because I swear I went to that high school on that very bus!

I think I attended that school. Enjoyed it, too.

By the end of this challenge, I think we'll all be boarding that bus for a trip to the Psycho Slammer.

Love the effects on that photo!

Looking at that bus brought me back to my misspent youth. How special for me.
