I Am a Child of God

During rough times, I say this phrase to myself many times a day.
I believe it.

Recently, I shared this positive thought with my granddaughter, Madisyn,
to help her deal with some stressful moments.
She believes it.

Sometimes the greatest gifts are not gifts at all.

My Future Couldn't Be Brighter!

Today is Day Twenty-Five of
Thirty Days of Photography II.

Today's photo topic:  THE FUTURE

This is my granddaughter, Madisyn.

This photo was just taken on my IPhone when I picked her up from school today. I tried to edit the photo and enhance it, but I always ended up erasing the changes. I love her just the way she is. Everything about her is perfect to me. She doesn't need her eyes brightened or her teeth whitened or her cheeks pinker. All she needs is my love. And I hers.

She is my future.

Suggestions Needed!

My art partner in crime, Madisyn,
is mine...all mine...this week!

I can't tell you how happy that makes me!

We have started an art project
and need your help in completing it!

Here is what we have done so far.

We used what we already had to start
a new art adventure.

I had a pack of 250 colored drinking straws
that I got from HEB for a buck.

We cut the straws in many different lengths.
That was fun!
The straws jumped around like jumping beans
when they were cut.

We put Grande in charge of picking up the pieces
that jumped on the floor!

I had a piece of black mat board that we used
as a background for the straws.

Madisyn just glued the straws to the mat board.

We only had one rule.

No straws of the same color could touch.

So now we have this great colorful art...
and we even have a frame to fit it!

Our question to you is this:
Is our colorful straw art ready for framing
or should we add something to it
and make the straws the background?

What is your suggestion?

Please send your suggestions soon...
because we have already started
another art project!

Wish you were here to have fun with us!

Please excuse the quality of the photos.
They are from my IPhone.

Another Use For Duct Tape!

So you think I am the
only one in my family
who is pent-up?

Well, think again...

Yep, these are chips off the old block!

From left to right:
Cash, Tango, Madisyn, Elena, Evan

My daughter-in-law, Elena, is a
wonderful photographer.
I loved her use of duct tape to keep
the family in place!
I know you are pulling your
duct tape out right now!
Everybody has to have one of
these photos! Right?

Thanks, Elena, for such a
Pent-Up Photo!

Thanks, Evan and Elena, for
such beautiful grandkids!

This post is for Robelyn
of Red Neck Chic who is
Queen of Duct Tape!

The World's Bestest Big Sister!

You, my friends, are familiar
with my beautiful granddaughter,
Madisyn,
but do you know what a good
big sister she is?
Just ask Tango...
he will tell you!
Look at these photos of Madi
with her new baby brother, Cash!

Madisyn with Grande
and Mom just minutes
after Cash was born!
He is her baby!
Did I tell you that Madi even
spent the night at the hospital
so she could take care of her Mommy
and Cash? How sweet is that?

Madi is showing off
the stork announcement
sign in front of her house!

Madisyn wore her
"I'm a Big Sister"
button with pride!

Madisyn points at the
"It's A Boy"
banner hanging over the front door.
However, Madi read the banner as
"It's So A Boy"...
she has a point!

Madisyn sat by Cash on his
way home from the hospital.
Isn't she a good big sister?

Madisyn said,
"I don't know what is wrong
with me! I can't quit
kissing him!"
I know that feeling too!

Of course, Madisyn took over
when Cash got home!

My sweet baby girl loves
her sweet baby brother!

Don't you wish you had
Madisyn around your house?
She is the biggest helper!
I am so proud of her!

Don't miss tomorrow's post:
Tango's Job Review
as a Big Brother!

You don't want to
miss this one! :)

Pop Test!

Okay, kids...
this is a different kind
of pop test...
no multiple choice answers!

I give you the photo
and the question...
you give me the answer!

Break the seal on your
test booklet
and let's begin!

What has sparked the look
in Madisyn's eyes?

No, Sue, you can't answer...
that would be cheating!

Friday's Favorite Family Fotos!

New pictures of
grand babies in the bluebonnets!
Believe it or not,
my wonderful son, Evan,
and his extraordinary wife, Elena,
took a 10 hour road trip to find
bluebonnets!

Tango thinks that bluebonnets are tasty!

Madisyn is being cute in the bluebonnets!
Unfortunately, Tango had a big
boo-boo on his chubby little cheeks!

Isn't Madisyn a precious girl?
Tango is running and making
a break for it!

Madisyn looking adorable!

Here is my little man, Tango!

Madisyn making a fashion statement!
Tango can cry anywhere
he wants!

Madisyn walking the rock wall.

I love these two little people!

The Highlight of Easter...

The highlight of Easter...
was when we received these!
Madisyn: "This is so much fun!"
Tango: "Mom, come get me!"

Madisyn: "This is so much fun!"
Tango: "Mom, are you listening to me?"

Madisyn: "This is so much fun!"
Tango: "Mooooommmm! Save me!"

I Just Need Some Quiet Time!

How is a girl
suppose to fish?
When her brother...
Keeps eating the bait?
Oh, now you want
to fish?
Here, let me show
you how!
You sit here
and be still...
So I can fish!

IRISH WISDOM...

May those who love us, love us
And those who don't love us,
May God turn their hearts
And if he can't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limping!

Evan's birthday is only three days
from St.Pat's Day...
sometimes the parties intertwine!
Madisyn knows she is Irish too!

Evan fixed his hair special
for the occasion!
Lurch and Evan...
father and son.
(No, Lurch isn't having green beer this year!)
And after a few green beers...
Ode to Beer
Of all my favorite things to do,
The utmost is to have a brew.
My love grows for my foamy friend,
with each thirst-quenching elbow bend.
Beer's so frosty, smooth, and cold---
It's paradise---Pure liquid gold!
Yes, beer means many things to me,
that's all for now ---I gotta Pee !
