Where Will 12:00 Find You?

When the clock strikes the magic hour,
where will you be?

Will 12:00 find you...

making a splash as you welcome in
the new year?

Or will 12:00 find you...

drowning in embarrassment
as you are inconveniently seated
next to your husband's first wife?

Will 12:00 find you...

dancing cheek-to-cheek on
the dance floor?

Or will 12:00 find you...

showing your cheeks
on the dance floor?

Will 12:00 find you...

dressed in party attire and
surrounded by your friends?

Or will 12:00 find you...

naked and alone,
sitting in your favorite chair?

Will 12:00 find you...

sleeping with friends?

Yes, you heard me...
sleeping with friends!

Or will 12:00 find you...

wide awake
with your falsies still pumped up,
your knee high stockings rolled down
and drinking the last cold beer in the cooler?

Will 12:00 find you...

drunk,
naked
and a pint short?

Or will 12:00 find you...

sober,
naked
and a short pint?

However 12:00 finds you,
I hope you will find your way back here
every day next year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Oddities...

Obsessed...
I am.
Are you?
The new Discovery Channel series,
Oddities,
has me totally hooked.

Have you been watching?
BEWARE!
It's addicting!

Where else have you seen a
lobster claw bigger than your
own hand?

The show is filmed in Manhattan's
Obscura Antiques and Oddities.

Poor Lurch.
It is inevitable that he is going
to have to take me there now!

Want to read about the program
or check out more pictures?
Check HERE.

Oh, gosh,
my fingers are itchin'
to pick up some things!

One of the most fun things about
the show is watching the people
who shop in this unique store.

Some of the characters in
Nuuwwww York City make
Texas junkers look tame!

Now, if you will excuse me...
I'm gonna watch some recorded episodes.

Wish you could watch too?

At least you can watch
this short video!

Birthday Celebration Going On!

47
48
49
50
51...
and one to grow on!
Yep, it's true!

MikeWJ turned 51 today!

He's having a big shindig over at his blog,

You are invited!
All you have to do is bring a gift.

Don't forget the gift!
Old people get cranky.

I've been busy all day making
Mike's birthday cake!

I've also been staring out
the window ...
just wondering what to give
Mike for his journey into old age.

I know what I would like to give him!

No! No! Not that!

I was thinking about giving Mike a new job.
I think he may be losing interest
working in the condom factory.

Yes,
his motivation has gone limp.

The last job Mike had wasn't
too interesting either.
I mean...
there are only so many pits
a guy can smell!

I know what might be right down his alley...
Bowling!
I could take Mike bowling!

But he might get distracted.
Never mind.

Or I could buy him some new swim
trunks and we could go swimming!
Never mind.
I might get distracted.

How about a...
tatoo?
We all know Mike loves
the written word!

Maybe I should just take him t0 a
wiener roast!
He would need to take his own
wienee though!

It would probably be safer to get Mike a pet...
preferably one born in East Texas!

I read that some of the sister wives
are planning on sending Mike an IPad.
I can do better than that!
Happy Birthday, Mike!
You will stand out in the crowd
with this cool computer!

In case he received one
of the other computers,
I have an alternate gift picked out!
Do you think he will like it?

Wait, Kerry might kill me.

Let me think.

Oh, I know!
This is the perfect gift for Mike...
automated rose-colored glasses!

When things aren't going your way,
just put on these glasses, Mike!

The world will look cheerier!

Yes, you are allowed to wear these
glasses every day!

Hope you had a Happy Birthday, Mike!

Coldspring Trojans...My Boys!

"Some people think football is a matter of life and death.
I assure you, it's much more serious than that."
--Bill Shankly--

It's true.
I'm a Texas girl who loves her football.

But you know what I love
more than football?
(photo courtesy of Rod Adeylotte for the Houston Chronicle)

These boys.

You know these boys, don't you?

These are my boys.

These are the boys who
stole my hearts as sixth graders
when they entered my campus.

Then they started playing football
in the seventh grade.
There is only one word
to describe them...

AWESOME!

These are the boys who went
undefeated throughout their entire
junior high football career.

These are the boys who hold
a very special place in my heart
because they are not only talented athletes,
they are outstanding young men!

These are the boys who gave me
the gift of football again.

My husband no longer
coached on the sidelines.

I no longer had sons
playing every Friday night.

These boys became my boys.

I loved them so much
that when it was time for them
to move on to high school,
I moved with them!

Then life got in the way
and my journey in life went
in another direction.

But they are still my boys.

And I still love them.

If you don't believe me,
just mess with any one of them
and see me go in the protective mode!

I am so proud of their accomplishments.

Want to see them in action this year?

In these photos,
my boys might be wearing white or black jerseys,
but they will always be wearing this helmet.

The lyrics under each photo are from
Kenny Chesney's" The Boys of Fall".

"When I feel that chill, smell that fresh cut grass
I'm back in my helmet, cleats and shoulderpads
Standin' in the huddle, listenin' to the call
Fans going crazy for the BOYS OF FALL."

(photo courtesy of Houston Community Newspapers)

"They didn't let just anybody in that club
Took every ounce of heart and sweat and blood
To get to wear those game-day jerseys down the hall
Kings of the school, man, we're the BOYS OF FALL"

"Well, it's time to face the stars and stripes,
It's fightin' back them butterflies
It's callin' in the air, 'Alrighty, yes sir, we want the ball'
And it's knockin' heads and talkin' trash
It's slingin' mud and dirt and grass"

(photo courtesy of Houston Community Newspapers)

"It's I got your number
I got your back when your back's against a wall
You mess with one man, you got us all
WE'RE THE BOYS OF FALL"

"In little towns like mine that's all they got
Newspaper clippings fill the coffee shops
The old men always think they know it all
Young girls will dream about
THE BOYS OF FALL"

"You mess with one, you got us all
WE'RE THE BOYS OF FALL"

(bad photo courtesy of me)

Did I mention that my boys are going
to play their very last high school game
on Friday night?

Boys,
I've been flying this flag at my house
in honor of your last game!

Just one other thing I might have
forgotten to mention....

(photo courtesy of Dallas Cowboy Stadium)

My boys will be playing their final game
at the Dallas Cowboy Stadium
for the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!

Boys, I have three things to tell you:

"Show class, have pride and display character.
If you do, winning takes care of itself."
--Paul Bryant--

"Luck is what happens when
preparation meets opportunity."
--Seneca--

"Boys, you have made this woman so dang proud."
--Malisa Hargrove--

Want to see one proud woman
yelling in support of her boys?

You can see it.
