Stovepipe Top Hat

Oh, my gosh!
It feels so good to be back!

I have been taking care of life lately,
but I sure missed my fellow participants
in Jenny Matlock's Saturday Centus!

So imagine my surprise today when I tuned in
and found out that our weekly assignment has
been shortened to 50 words!
You heard me...
50 words!

But I like a challenge.
Thanks goodness because life has been
a challenge lately!

I remember when I started contributing to
Saturday Centus and its 100 word challenges.
I thought that was a tough assignment...
but 50?

Piece of cake!

You know why?

Because Ms. Matlock is a good teacher
and has prepared us well...
that's why!

If you are new to Saturday Centus,
you may be wondering what it is all about.

Saturday Centus is a themed writing meme.
Each Saturday, Ms. Matlock
will give us a writing prompt.
Your assignment, if you choose to accept it,
is to write a 100 word story
not including the prompt words.
Oh, and the prompt words can be used
anywhere in your story!
The writing prompt is good for the entire week...
so join in when you get good and ready!

This week's prompt:

"Abraham Lincoln was a lot shorter than I
thought he would be..."

So here is my contribution to this week's
50 word

_______________________________________________________

President Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe were making out in the corner. Then he approached me and asked me to dance. He held me too tight and snuggled his stovepipe top hat between my breasts.

Abraham Lincoln was a lot shorter than I thought he would be…

I hate costume parties.

We Fell Into Fall...

I love the colors of Autumn!

This time of year, I want to live outside.

Even the spoiled house dogs like outdoors!

Last night, we enjoyed a nice fall evening.

Sweetie decided to grace us with her royal presence!

Granddog, Buddy, was doing his favorite thing...
barking at squirrels!

I was doing my favorite thing...
enjoying a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon!

Aren't those cute candle holders?
My son, Eric, makes them from
empty Corona bottles.

So, of course, Lurch did his best to help Eric out...
by emptying some Corona bottles
while he was cooking on the grill!

Then the hot tub started calling my name.
Oh, it looked so inviting!

The hot tub called out "Malisa, Malisa, come on in!"

"Can I bring my glass of wine?"
Well, I had to ask...it was the polite thing to do!

As the hot tub splashed water on my toes, I heard him say,
"No, you can't bring your glass! Bring the whole bottle!"

Well, what was a girl supposed to do?

He invited me personally. He called me by name!

He was a warm and inviting host!

So after a couple of hours in the hot tub
(which is really a warm tub because Lurch's heart condition
doesn't allow us to use hot tubs anymore),
we did this...
Slipped off into the bushes!

SHHHH!
Don't tell anyone!

What Life Is All About...

They keep me going.

When things are tough,
I think about them.

They are the lights
of my life.

Aren't they the cutest?
I so enjoyed loving on
Tango, Madisyn and Cash
last week!

Do you know the worst part
of seeing the grandkids?
After being with them,
I miss them that much more!

Orange and Green Icing On My Teeth!

It is good to be back!
I have been away from my
computer for 6 days !

Where have I been?

Celebrating my Mother's birthday!
Isn't her birthday cake beautiful?

We celebrated Mom's birthday during
our annual family reunion.
There were 90 people in attendance.

I had framed hundreds of vintage
photos of Mom for party favors.

Autumn decorations set the festive mood.
I love autumn!

Let me ask you a question...
Does this woman look 80 years old?
No, I don't think so either.

Sure hope I inherited those "young" genes!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM!

Yep, this famous threesome were

David of Student of Life is behind the camera...
of course!

Look at those cool signs!
Guess who made them?

This was my booth. See the blue and white tent
right behind the antique wedding dress...
that is where all the action was going on!
Yep, the girls and David were
busy, busy, busy!

If you were lucky, you got one of these
beautiful The P wine glasses!
Cool, huh?

If you were smart,
you bought one of these marvelous purses!

They rearrange only six or seven times a day!

How Red Neck Chic are these purses?

with salt or without?
MAJOR DECISIONS!

November 13th!

Change Is Good...Divine Intervention Is Better!

There are some changes
coming to this blog...

and to my life.

The last couple of years have been tough.
I have been scared of the changes that were happening.
But now, I feel hopeful.
Changes are happening with the help of...

angels.

"We are each of us angels with only one wing,
and we can only fly by embracing one another."
Luciano de Crecenzo

It is true...

and I am feeling the embraces
from some very special angels.

Cheryl Evans Lehane
and her sister...
blessed me with their words
of encouragement and
acts of generosity and faith.

I believe that their entrance
into my world was not by chance.

Then there is the angel that
has been by my side for years...
and continues to be there
when I need her.
Thank you, Rhonda!
(Also a big thanks to Rhonda's daughter,
Taylor, who is featured in my new header!)

Your support and unconditional love
has helped me through
the roughest of times.

A wonderful, new angel in my life
has endeared herself to me with
her free spirit and daily words
of humor and encouragement...
sweet, sweet Robelyn

her sweet spirit
still floats around me.

Now these people are not usually
behind the scenes...
they are usually up front and center.
But I happen to know that recently,
they have been working overtime backstage...
making sure that this pent-up girl
is headed in the right direction.
Debbie, Cat Daddy and Jodie might have you fooled,
but I know they are top shelf angels!

Their love and laughter
remains with me still.

Let me not forget the angel who hovers
around me daily...
the one who keeps me on track
with advice, support and friendship...
I know that Sue was brought into
my life for a reason.
She is my constant companion even though
we are so geographically so far apart!
My best buddy, Sue, is truly an angel!

Believe me...
there are other important angels in my life.
You will recognize them when you see
their feathers floating around.

Just want you all to know how much
I appreciate your support!
Currently, Lurch and I are dealing
with another medical hurdle,
but I will soon be posting pics of
my adventures at The Zapp Hall Antique Show...
complete with more pics of some of my angels
who walk here on earth.

I hope you enjoy the new direction
my blog is taking...
I will be posting more about the changes soon!

Look for the feathers and take time
to thank your own angels!
