30 Days of Photographs IV: Day 3...Soft

I didn't have a baby's butt around the house to photograph for today's topic. Lurch offered his butt for my photograph, but (and that's a big butt) I didn't want to do that to you so early in this whole tortuous ordeal.  Maybe Day 14.  I can hear you groaning now.

The softest thing I know is my adorable dog, Sweetie. In this photo, her hair isn't nearly as long as it usually is because she is sporting her summer cut, but you get the idea that she is a ball of softness.

I had to sneak in one other photo of the very softest part of Sweetie. Her ears are baby soft.

Now you need to go check out the other softies HERE. Give these people some love through your kind comments. After all, they spent three minutes of their lives for your entertainment.

30 Days of Photographs...Day 26...Heart

You have all met my wonder dog, Sweetie.
Sweetie likes to ride around the neighborhood on our golf cart.
Our golf cart is broken, so Sweetie is hitching rides with neighbors.
Seriously.
She is so spoiled rotten.
The amazing thing is that the neighbors let her ride.

Sweetie and I are blondes who like boys with fast cars.

I posted this photo on FB today. My marvelous friend, Cheryl, suggested
that this photo would make a good entry for the word "heart".
Cheryl is so right.
Sweetie personifies love.
She has such a big heart.

30 Days of Photographs III...Day 15...Favorite Food

My favorite food is Mexican food. Could eat it 365 days a year. Or a good bowl of shrimp and grits. Or maybe some fried okra, black eyed peas and cornbread. Any of those things will do. But day in and day out for all of my life, my major food item has been peanut butter. Thank goodness the whole family loves it. Even Sweetie. Especially Sweetie.

Portrait Of A Bitch

Today is Day Twenty-Two of
Thirty Days of Torture Photography II.

Today's photo topic:  PORTRAIT

This is my dog, Sweetie.

She is a 130 pound lap dog. She is an inside dog. She doesn't like the heat.

I was trying to take publicity photos for a big show. My model did not show up. Sweetie was called in as the understudy. Sweetie resented being second. She did not cooperate.  I told her to "lay, lay, lay" and "look at me".  She responded with  "no, no, no" and "kiss my ass"....or maybe it was "lick my ass". Whatever it is that dogs like.

We Fell Into Fall...

I love the colors of Autumn!

This time of year, I want to live outside.

Even the spoiled house dogs like outdoors!

Last night, we enjoyed a nice fall evening.

Sweetie decided to grace us with her royal presence!

Granddog, Buddy, was doing his favorite thing...
barking at squirrels!

I was doing my favorite thing...
enjoying a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon!

Aren't those cute candle holders?
My son, Eric, makes them from
empty Corona bottles.

So, of course, Lurch did his best to help Eric out...
by emptying some Corona bottles
while he was cooking on the grill!

Then the hot tub started calling my name.
Oh, it looked so inviting!

The hot tub called out "Malisa, Malisa, come on in!"

"Can I bring my glass of wine?"
Well, I had to ask...it was the polite thing to do!

As the hot tub splashed water on my toes, I heard him say,
"No, you can't bring your glass! Bring the whole bottle!"

Well, what was a girl supposed to do?

He invited me personally. He called me by name!

He was a warm and inviting host!

So after a couple of hours in the hot tub
(which is really a warm tub because Lurch's heart condition
doesn't allow us to use hot tubs anymore),
we did this...
Slipped off into the bushes!

SHHHH!
Don't tell anyone!

Sweetie Made Me Do It!

No, this is not the number
of posts I have done.

No, this is not the number
of followers I have.

No, this is not how many days
I have been blogging.

Then what is it?

It is the temperature
outside today...
on my porch...
in the shade!

Seems like we are in the
"dog days of summer"...
and it isn't even summer yet!

Elvis remembered that dogs need
plenty of fluids in the heat...
even if the fluid is a strawberry daiquiri!

There is a bar on the coast of Texas
which allows patrons to bring along their
dogs and every dog
gets a bowl of beer!

I know, I know...
alcohol isn't good for dogs!
I didn't say I give my dog beer!

Nope...
I give my dog, Sweetie, Jack Daniels!

This really is Sweetie in the photo,
but that is not her Jack Daniels.

She forgot her credit card that day
and I am not gonna support her habit.

Anyway...
it is so hot outside that Sweetie
has been begging me to potty train her!
She doesn't even like to go outside anymore!

Of course, with all the Jack Daniels,
she needs to go all the dang time!

It's too hot outside,
so Sweetie and I are just
gonna go back to bed.

Somebody wake us up in October!

Disclaimer: There were no dogs harmed
in the making of this post.
Sweetie does not drink Jack Daniels...

she is much more of a Crown Royal girl!

I'm kidding.

No animal right letters please!
I believe that dogs have rights...

to drink!

We Call Her Sweetie!

Isn't it interesting what people name their dogs? The only dog I had as a child was named Jet. My mother and I still disagree on how Jet got his name. One of us claims there was a jet flying overhead and the other one claims it was because he was jet black. I don't remember Jet very much. His picture is captured in snapshots and there are vague recollections of him in my memories. Jet was replaced by a cat, Mr. Lucky. I remained a staunch cat lover with no appreciation of dogs.
However, as a mother of boys, dogs are a daily part of life. Buffy, a blonde cocker spaniel was the boys' first dog. We could never break Buffy of the habit of jumping out of the Jeep as we were going down the road. Blondes! Then there were the dalmation puppies, Flame and Blaze. They were so expensive and so cute! They were stolen from our fenced back yard. Our chocolate lab, Hershey, chased one too many mountain lions. The cats just watched the drama with disinterest. They were safe. I was a cat lover. Lurch, a dog lover, accepted my quirks and resigned to a life without dogs.
Then the unimaginable happened. Sweetie came into my life. Beautiful, sweet, calm, contented Sweetie taught this old dog (me) a new trick...she changed me into a dog lover! Wonder why we call her Sweetie? Check out these pictures and you will understand.
When Madisyn is sick, Sweetie is on guard!
Sweetie protecting Madisyn and her baby doll!

Madisyn and Sweetie are always back seat
buddies on long trips to Grammy and Grande's house.
Sweetie loves the suckers, because when Madi falls
asleep, as she is doing here, the sucker
ends up in Sweetie's mouth!

When Madisyn feels like wrestling, Sweetie is the docile partner!

Do you see why we named her Sweetie?

So, how about you?

What is your dog's name?
Leave me a comment with your dog's name and I will link your
blog in my upcoming post about Dog Names, Part II.

I'm serious, Jacko! Help me get this monkey off my back...
at least off my bed!!!
Please name this Fonkey Monkey by midnight on Saturday!
I only need one critter in this home to get all this attention!
